Happy Holidays from the GRCDI

As 2025 draws to a close, we would like to take the opportunity to all who have attended our events, seminars and workshops throughout this year and to all who have made them possible.

2025 has been a fantastic year for the development of the centre. In May, we hosted the international ARCANI workshop at The Burn. In July we hosted the DI Summit 2025 and helped support a research engagement day at Edinburgh Zoo. Throughout October, November and December, we hosted a successful AI seminar series that attracted participation from multiple schools at the University of St Andrews, including Computer Science, Psychology & Neuroscience, Biology, Economics, Physics and Philosophy.

We also hosted several talks by external speakers visiting St Andrews, including Tom Smulders on behalf of AFFECT-EVO and Christine Caldwell. These speakers shared their ideas with both our local members and our wider international community through newly piloted hybrid formats, which we plan to roll out to future events to better support participation from global members and collaborators and strengthen their connection to the GRCDI community.

Looking to the year ahead, we are excited to bring the Diverse Intelligences community many more exciting talks, workshops and events, as well as expand our international collaboration with the other new TWCF Global Diverse Intelligence hubs (Natural & Artificial Minds at Princeton University, The Minds and Intelligences Research Centre at Macquarie University, and The Center for Possible Minds at Indiana University).

Finally, we will soon be announcing multiple new opportunities to apply for small research grants and support to run global workshops related to the study of Diverse Intelligences.

We wish you all a very festive holiday season and a fantastic 2026.
